Director / Vice President Consumer Technology

Eastwick Communications is a 15-year-old technology public relations firm representing some of the industry’s most recognized brands and high-potential start ups.  There are no JV accounts or teams. We have 35 plus employees and offices in Redwood City and San Francisco.  We are experiencing tremendous growth and are looking for people who love what they do and want to make a difference - - both to our clients and the agency itself.

Eastwick’s clients are in WiFi, broadband, security, business analytics, enterprise software, consumer technology and storage.  We are always looking for the best and brightest, and are actively recruiting for the following positions:

You should have 8-10 years experience at a public relations agency, have worked on big consumer brands, understanding of marketing communications as it relates to promoting brands, excellent client counsel skills, can work well with partners, be very strategic, have excellent leadership skills, have ability to lead a team and have strong media relations skills.

You should have the ability to mentor a staff and the skills and presence to work with sophisticated clients. You should be someone that senior management can look to for leadership in a crisis. This is a growth position where the right Senior Director candidate might find themselves on a path to a VP position.

Responsibilities include:

    Provide strategic counsel to national, consumer client; manage client expectations and plans.
    Provide creative and entrepreneurial ideas that reflect understanding of latest consumer trends and modern consumers’ buying behavior.
    Manage the team’s media relations work; explain media relations strategies and results to clients; use personal media contacts and participate in media training.
    Confidently participate in new business presentations; seek out new business opportunities from both current and new clients
    Act as “champion” of the team by motivating and mentoring junior staff; delegate and manage workflow; participate in performance reviews.
    Oversee client budgets and budget tracking.

Requirements include:

    Eight-plus years of agency experience
    Strong leadership and management abilities
    High Technology consumer lifestyle experience
    Well connected to the latest consumer trends and behaviors
    Experience managing day-to-day relationships between clients and media
    Exceptional communication and presentation skills
    Demonstrated success in managing teams and workflow
    New business skills
